Happy Birthday Grandma Alice

Happy 81st Birthday!

It was Grandma Alice's 81st birthday today. To celebrate we all went to Red Lobster which is one of Grandma's favorites. She even got to ride in my new truck.

We were gone about 3 hours or so. That's the upper limit for her; she gets tired and then REALLY starts repeating herself. She had a really good time. A little old man in the care home gave her that necklace.

Merry Christmas!

We did Christmas at my house this year. It was so very exciting! I've never really been hostess since I moved in. This is me and Lily under the "Christmas" tree.

Okay, okay, so I decorated my ficus. It's a start!

For dinner, we had a traditional Mexican meal: posole, tamales, salsa. Yum! I'll be eating the soup for days. Lucky me!

Here's Grandma Alice, Dad, & Mom sitting around my table. After dinner, Dad took a nap and Grandma Alice, Mom & I played Yahtzee. You can tell that Dad doesn't feel good.

And my favorite Christmas present? The afternoon rainbow above my neighborhood. It went all the way over.

Grandma Alice

We're going through some of Grandma Alice's things for a yard sale; it's like a full room full of memories. It's sad and good at the same time -- stuff has memories attached to it, but at the end of the day, it's just STUFF.

But, I was thinking about Grandma A and Alvin. Alvin caught a 15 pound catfish last week. Until his, the biggest catfish I'd ever seen in my LIFE was this one that Grandma Alice caught at Dead Horse Ranch State Park in the Verde in February.

Renn Faire

Alvin, Grandma Alice, my folks and I went to the Renn Faire this year. Alvin didn't even get too uncomfortable when I was all dressed up! I think he had a good time; I know I did!

Grandma Alice walked all over. For being 80 she wore everybody into the ground! We had to keep and eye on her that she didn't get away.

You can really see my double skirts here. They were just warm ENOUGH since it was cool that day. And the white shirt? Yeah, it's new! I love it!

It was a great day.
